Finally, Apple introduced its first tablet device that comes under the name the iPad. It looks like a big iPhone or iPod touch and comes with almost the same features. It is equipped with a 9.7-inch display that is considered to be capacitive as well as multi-touch, it offers with a 1024-by-768-pixel resolution. Its weight is 1.5 pounds.
The device lacks an integrated physical keyboard, users will have to type the text with the help of an on-screen, virtual keyboard.
But the company is still going to provide an external Keyboard Dock due to which users will be able to type the text in a portrait mode. Moreover, the tablet backs up wireless keyboard. The device us based on the iPhone OS and is powered with a 1 GHz processor. It features a range of software used for browsing the Web, watching video, exchanging e-mail, and also calendar as well as address book.
Furthermore, the iPad runs software created for Apple’s handheld computers and smartphone. It backs up the Apple iTunes service, with the help of which users are able to buy music, video, and applications.
It is not considered to be all fun and game device as it includes a version of iWork that is used for word processing and spreadsheets.
