The UK market of Apple iPad 3G 64GB version enjoyed strong sales this holiday season. According to Context, a market research firm, that almost 80 percent of iPad sales in the UK was dominates by 3G version of the tablet, with only 20 percent of November sales were for non Wi-Fi version of iPad. However, in mainland Europe, the Wi-Fi-only models gather a 58 percent of unit sales.
Based on earlier research of context, due to Apple’s move of shipping more Wi-Fi models of their iPad than 3G enable devices at its near launch time in Europe made Wi-Fi only model to be the most favored tablet in the market, for an earlier 70 percent sales. Moreover, due to the popularity and strong demands of the 3G tablets with the help of various mobile network stores that became the major outlets for the huge push of sales of the device.
It seems that UK shoppers are very much keen of higher memory version of the Apple device, with more than 48 percent who opted to acquire 64GB version, while in Europe only 25 percent of users chose this high-end device.
Jeremy Davies, Context founder, said in a statement that Apple was the first to market something that has a universal appeal, and added that in the coming year, it will be so interesting to know which kind of tablets will go into battle with iPad device of Apple in the early part of 2011, with MWC, CeBIT and CES to come early on the first quarter next year.
